How are you as parents and educators addressing the challenges children face online? How are you educating them to conduct themselves in the online world appropriately?
"Digital Citizenship is a concept which helps teachers, technology leaders and parents to understand what students/children/technology users should know to use technology appropriately." (Ribble, 2017)
"Digital Citizenship is the continuously developing norms of appropriate, responsible, and empowered technology use" (Ribble, 2017). Digital citizenship means being a responsible person when you're online. It's like being a good citizen in the real world, but in the digital world. A good digital citizen involves things such as showing kindness to others, not sharing personal information with strangers, and being careful about what you share and view online. It also means understanding how to use technology safely, being respectful online, not bullying others, and not spreading rumors. When we practice being good digital citizens, we help create a positive and safe online community where everyone can learn and have fun together.
